Name: Judai Yuki
Series: Yu-Gi-Oh! GX
Canon-Point: Episode 117, right after Johan duels Giese Hunter.

Personality: Judai is a very determined and generally good-spirited young man. Always up for a duel, he frequently gets himself into (and out of) trouble, and he almost never gives up (and the few times he nearly did, it didn't take much to get him into a fighting spirit again). He cares very deeply for his friends, and would easily risk his life for them, even if he doesn't always know how to deal with them directly (ie, Rei having a crush on him, Sho and Kenzan looking up to him). He also has a deep bond with his cards, caring more when they've been insulted than when he was insulted. He's frequently regarded as a hero by those around him as well.

However, outside of dueling, Judai doesn't seem to have much knowledge or interest in the world around him. He often falls asleep in class and various other places, and generally seems ignorant to any distain towards him. In fact, he probably would have been expelled from Duel Acadamy by now if it weren't for his great dueling skill and the fact that he's saved the world at least twice by this point. Which isn't to say he's stupid, because he really isn't. He'll occassionally have a moment where his intellect shines through, noticing things others don't.
He also makes a lot of jokes, occasionally at the expense of others, though he's never mean-spirited about it. Due to the isolation he had as a child, he's just not entirely sure what's appropriate and when.

Powers: DUELING but that probably doesn't really count as a power at this point in canon orz. He can talk to duel spirits though!
Starter Pokemon: Eevee, because it reminds me of a kuriboh. Speaking of which, I'd like to bring in Hane Kuriboh, Judai's spirit partner, in as the Eevee if that's okay? I know there's a rule about doing that...

Writing Samples
First-Person Sample:
{All you can see is dirt. Yup, the camera is on the ground. At least, it is until a nose comes up and tips the camera so that it's now facing the sky, and an Eevee is looking down at it curiously. It turns and yelps softly in another direction until...}

Oh, there it is! Good job, buddy! {Yes, that's right. Judai already managed to lose his communicator. Our hero, ladies and gents.

He picks it up, momentarily upside-down before flipping it to face him properly.} Uh, hello! My name is Judai Yuki, and uh, I think I'm lost? {He grins sheepishly.} Can someone tell me where this is?

Third-Person Sample:
It was pretty nice, really, wandering around like this, sleeping outside... Judai was pretty content. Of course he missed his friends, and of course he wanted to go home, but really, this was kind of like a little camping trip. A vacation from all the weirdness happening back home. He could really use one of those...

And it's not like he was completely alone, right? There were these... Pokemon. Pokemon everywhere! Even his partner was a Pokemon! Which was kinda weird, but welcome.

As he wandered down the path to the next town, he wondered what sort of things could happen in this world. Sure, he'd already decided to try the gym leader challenge (he was always up for a good challenge!), but really, trouble seemed to follow him wherever he went.

"What do you think, buddy?" he asked the Eevee on his shoulder. "Do you think anything interesting is gonna happen here?"

The Pokemon yipped in return, nodding slightly in affirmation. Judai laughed and reached up to pat it on the head. "Is that so?"
